Dear GN Members,
After serious debate, we have determined not to host an Independence Day fireworks show at Geneva National this year. We are extremely sorry to pause this long-standing celebrated tradition, but with the ongoing concerns over COVID-19, we feel it is in the best interest of our Members and the GN Community not to proceed as planned.
While our team has worked diligently to provide a platform for socially distanced Member events, the July 4th fireworks would draw such large numbers to the property that we could not be assured of maintaining current safety protocols.
Despite this difficult decision, there is good -- no, great news. We still have our hard-fought American freedom to celebrate and we have an amazing and supportive community of Members with which to observe the holiday. We hope that you will choose to join us at the lobster boil (yes, it’s still on!) led by Culinary Director Ryne Harwick. Our Food & Beverage team has been planning this special event for weeks, as evidenced by the well-scripted menu below, and now that the spotlight’s on them – watch out. They love a challenge.
The Clubhouse will still be decked out in loyal red, white and blue as will our staff. The Zach Pietrini Band will still be live for a three-hour concert, but we'll kick off the celebration an hour earlier, starting at 5pm. We may even throw in an impromptu golf cart parade pre-concert if you’re up for being spontaneous. This virus will not temper our American spirit.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we continue to adjust to the health crisis. We are here to serve you – and we want to do so safely.
If you have any questions or wish to change your plans, please contact Jillian Giese at firstname.lastname@example.org or 262.245.7026. Else, we will see you on the 4th!
